An Impactful Exhibit in Honor of International Women’s Day

The Naked Truth is a photographic exhibition revealing the true essence of a woman as she struggles with oppression on a global stage. Revealed are the challenges faced daily through photography depicting the limitations imposed upon women in their respective countries.

Tampa, FL, February 18, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Biologists have spent their lifetime decoding the mystery of a woman. But the woman continues to be an enigma. Her enigma embodies her beauty. And this beauty is not skin-deep. We all know the shape and form of a woman doesn’t change because of race, religion, culture or ethnicity. On March 8th, at Michael Murphy Gallery in Tampa, Karyn Anjali Productions and Imagination Media will unveil The Naked Truth at a private invitation only event. The show will be displayed for sale and available at the gallery until March 31st which marks the end of Women’s History Month.

The Naked Truth is a series of photographic art that reveals the true essence of a woman as she struggles with oppression on a global stage. Depicted through photography are the challenges faced daily focusing on the limitations imposed upon women in their respective countries. Issues such as Rape, Human Trafficking, Infanticide, Forced Marriage, Domestic Abuse, Musawah and Sati are addressed.

According to Gina Marie, the mastermind behind Imagination Media, “In many countries we are told to hide... Hide our hair, hide who we love, and even hide our pain and abuse. We are not hiding here - we are expressing ourselves in art and giving power through all our purity, vulnerability and glory - and because we can. We are breaking the chains that bind us (often invisible to the Naked eye)!” This exhibition is about creating awareness.

International Women's Day has been observed since in the early 1900's on a Global platform. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. It is an occasion for looking back on past struggles and accomplishments, and more importantly, for looking ahead to the untapped potential and opportunities that await future generations of women. Organizations, governments, charities and women's groups around the world choose different themes each year that reflect global and local gender issues.

This will be the only event in Tampa celebrating the day and honoring women. If you cannot attend and would like to support the cause, please visit http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/imagination/the-naked-truth?ref=live.
