Next Webstar Aims to Find Top Talent with Online Video Contests

Video Contest website, NextWebstar.com has opened its doors to online fame seekers and aims to attract entertainment corporations.

Baltimore, MD, May 23, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Video Contest website, NextWebstar.com has opened its doors to online fame seekers. The company, which was founded by two DC natives working in the web industry, was launched in mid-March of this year. Next Webstar plans to position themselves as a launching pad for the world's talent.

They have launched the site with three featured contests: Best Band, Best Dancer, and Best Actor. Anyone can view the contestants, but to enter a contest, vote, or leave comments, you must be a member of the site. Contestants can create a profile, network with others, and build a fan base. Next Webstar is hoping to leverage itself with some of the enormous popularity associated with online video and social networking.

Co-Founder, Doug Dosberg, says that "traditional methods of becoming a celebrity, have been broken down by online video. We want to give our members a platform that will help them get discovered." Next Webstar is still in the process of locating venture capital as well as forming partnerships with talent agencies and other sponsors. They say that they have seen traffic to the site increase over 400% after their first month with more than 20,000 page views in the month of April.
