Skywalker - Ropes Course Design Has Got a New Name

Climbing park designer, Active Forest Concepts re-brands itself Skywalker Adventure Builders after company restructuring.

Amsterdam, Netherlands, March 13, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Dutch ECO high-wire forest park and adventure park manufacturer Active Forest Concepts announced today that all future business operations will be carried out under the new name of Skywalker Adventure Builders.

Skywalker offers technical know-how and a proven track record when it comes to the design and construction of nature playgrounds, high and low ropes courses, climbing parks and adventure sites. With more than a decade of experience under its belt, the company is expected to maintain its position as one of Europe’s market leaders in the highly competitive Outdoor Leisure sector.

“In the course of the corporate restructuring that took place over the past months, we have re-shuffled our management with the scope of fusing the technical knowledge from the Active Forest days with new business strategies more effectively,” explains Ewout Van Voorst, Managing Director of Skywalker Adventure Builders. “This ensures not only continuity in our operations, but also helps us to analyse and understand the current market conditions inside out – which, in turn, will give our customers a competitive advantage.”

“Companies providing comprehensive all-inclusive concepts are in high demand in our business sector,” continues Van Voorst. “Planning, design and construction of a climbing park are only one side of the coin. To make the venue really profitable, any concept also needs to focus on the appropriate HR management, a well-researched marketing and the accompanying ICT strategies. All of which is precisely what we offer to our business clients.”

“We designed and built our very first ECO climbing forest back in 2007. At the time, a project like this was pretty much terra incognita,” remembers Van Vorst. “No one had done something like this before. However, we’ve come a long way since then. Since 2007, we’ve not only completed a dozen or more projects but our designs have also set new EU industry standards now applying to the quality and operational safety of climbing facilities.”

“Every construction company can put up a few pylons or poles, connect them by a bit of rope and call it a climbing park,” adds Van Vorst. “However, without the proper background knowledge and a clear idea about the customer target groups and the operational requirements involved approaches like that will never be anything else but a bunch of pylons.”

Bas Morsink, formerly Director of Operations of the successful AvaTarZ theme park Oldenzaal, NL, has joined the board of Skywalker Adventure Builders as an external consultant. “In future, we will not only continue to develop our internationally tried and trusted adventure concepts,” explains Morsink. “At the moment, we are establishing strong strategic links with key businesses which will allow us as well as our new partners to open up new markets.”

“These days, many business clients who are interested in our adventure concepts do not have an Outdoor Leisure background,” continues Morsink. “It’s these customers in particular, who value our expertise, knowledge and ability to quickly spot the latest trends in our industry.”
