CD Sales Nets Donations for the Troops "We Care" Packages

Simi Valley, CA, March 13, 2012 --(PR.com)-- For The Troops announced today an $815 donation which will be used for postage to ship seventy-one (71) “We Care” packages to our Freedom Fighters serving in a war zone. The donation was the result of proceeds from the sales of the CDs “Our Flag” and “The Statue of Liberty” sold in the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library’s Museum Store. The CD’s producer, Mr. Richard Sills, worked with the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation to create this arrangement.

“These songs are dedicated to President and Nancy Reagan and speak to President Reagan’s policy of Peace Through Strength,” said Mr. Richard Sills. “It is only fitting that the funds raised from the sale of this CD be donated to For The Troops.”

For The Troops was founded by Paula Cornell and Janie Josephson in 2006, who both felt strongly about supporting America’s deployed military with items from home. In 2011, they shipped approximately 1,475 “We Care” packages each month. People constantly thank them for all they do and as Paula says, “We have the easy part. We're not putting ourselves in harm’s way or foregoing our creature comforts to make sure America stays safe and free.” Items most needed by our Troops are baby wipes, batteries, cotton swabs, beef jerky, CD’s, DVD’s and magazines.

Included in every box For The Troops sends is a letter from a child. Children’s letters are the troops number one requested item. As long as America has military deployed to war zones, For The Troops hopes to continue its mission of “Supporting Our Troops One Care Package At A Time.”
