Dallas Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Andrew Trussler, Presents Mastopexy with Auto-Augmentation Procedure

Dallas, TX, March 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Dr. Andrew Trussler, board-certified plastic surgeon in Dallas, recently lectured on a cutting edge plastic surgery procedure: mastopexy (breast lift) with auto-augmentation. He presented this and other topics to his colleagues at the 15th Annual Cosmetic Surgery Symposium in Dallas.

"A traditional mastopexy procedure only deals with breast droop," explains Dr. Trussler. "Mastopexy with auto-augmentation has two goals: to lift the breast and to increase its fullness." Historically, the lower aspect of the breast was removed during a breast lift. With an auto-augmentation procedure, this tissue is "repurposed" and suspended in the chest to add fullness to the area.

Mastopexy with auto-augmentation is not a replacement for Breast Augmentation Surgery (http://www.drtrussler.com/cosmetic-procedures/breast/breast-augmentation), however. As Dr. Trussler explains, "The patient's own tissue does not take the place of an implant. Rather, it maximizes breast volume if an implant won't be used."

Breast Lift Surgery (http://www.drtrussler.com/cosmetic-procedures/breast/breast-lift) continues to be one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries in the United States. According to the most recent data from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, there were over 90,000 breast lift procedures performed in 2011 alone.

"Breast lift surgery is highly effective for returning a youthful shape and lift to breasts that have sagged and lost firmness," says Dr. Trussler. "Now, patients who are looking to avoid a breast implant are excited to find out we can enhance fullness as well."

Dr. Trussler was one of only a handful of honored and guest faculty asked to speak at this year's Cosmetic Surgery Symposium. His lectures on advances in breast augmentation and buttock augmentation were well received by his peers.
