Rail Website Highlights "Bunny on Board" Easter Events

TrainTraveling.com features 2012 guide to Easter train rides in the U.S. and Canada

Miami, FL, March 23, 2012 --(PR.com)-- With Easter only weeks away, TrainTraveling.com has launched its annual guide to Eastertime train ride events. The Easter Train Guide highlights scenic railroads and heritage rail museums hosting bunny train rides and other Easter-themed events.

Easter trains go by a variety of names including Easter Bunny Express, Cottontail Express and Easter Eggspress. In California, the Irvine Park Railroad offers rides aboard its Easter Eggstravaganza. Whatever the name, a meet-and-greet appearance by a costumed Peter Cottontail character is customary -- and the perfect photo op!

This year, Easter train ride events are scheduled at some 70 railroads in more than 30 U.S. States and Canadian Provinces. In addition to "bunny on board" train rides, event goers can usually expect Easter egg hunts and refreshments plus extras like coloring contests and face painting. At the Texas State Railroad, North Carolina's Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, and Colorado's Durango & Silverton Railroad, a costumed Snoopy character steals the show at "Peanuts" The Easter Beagle Express Train events!

While Sunday, April 8 is the day when Easter train rides are most frequently scheduled, a number of railroads run train events on alternative dates for families unable to participate on the big day. The two Saturdays preceding Easter, March 31 and April 7, are especially busy days.

Mirroring conventional train travel's gains in ridership, novelty rail events have garnered an enthusiastic following. Over the years Easter has proven to be one of the most popular times of the year to present train ride events. In fact, for many railroads operating seasonally, Easter train ride events kick off annual operations.

This year's TrainTraveling.com guide to Easter train rides features bunny-themed rail events from Florida to Alaska and from California to Ontario. Events are categorized by state and province and include live links for host railroads, as well as their locations and event dates.
