Former Jordan Brand Footwear Design Director Kicks It with NV Magazine

Founder of the Pensole School of Footwear Design D’Wayne Edwards to be featured in the NVTV web series “Small Business of the Week.”

New York, NY, March 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- NVTV profiles footwear designer and entrepreneur D’Wayne Edwards, founder of Pensole Footwear Design Academy in their new web series, “Small Business of the Week,” which is available on NVMagazine.com.

“Small Business of the Week” is a web series that inspires young, urban entrepreneurs and gives them a real life account of people who have achieved success by owning their talents and following their dreams.

In his interview with NVTV, Edwards talks about why he left his position as Footwear Design Director at Jordan Brand, the company where he designed shoes for sports icons like Michael Jordan, Carmelo Anthony and Derek Jeter to start his own school of footwear design. He also discusses his role as a mentor to several up and coming designers and how he ultimately wishes to inspire and empower his students at Pensole.

At Pensole, students are “learning the power of mentorship and the power of fellowship, all through the lens of designing shoes,” says Edwards. Pensole is an Oregon based school where students can create their own innovative sneaker designs. NVTV’s interview with Edwards took place at Pensole’s inaugural class, which was held at Parsons the New School for Design.
