Neal Communities Brings Technology to the Classroom

Bradenton-based builder funds fourth grade class ActivBoard at St. Martha Catholic School.

Bradenton, FL, April 04, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Neal Communities recently contributed funds to purchase an ActivBoard for Sister Marianne Baehr’s 4th Grade class. Often known as a “smart board,” this ActivBoard is an interactive white board that enhances learning and provides greater flexibility to teachers. Today’s children are comfortable with technology and respond well to these teaching tools.

“We’ve been committed to causes that benefit children because our communities deserve this in the present and in the future,” stated Neal Communities’ President, Pat Neal. “St. Martha Catholic School is serving our students well and giving students the kind of education they rightly need and deserve.”

Teachers like the way the ActivBoard provides more freedom to move around the classroom and spend time with individual students. “It’s like having a second teacher in the classroom,” said Baehr. “Children are so technology smart, that sometimes the old ways bore them. The board allows them to learn at a speed they’re comfortable with and be engaged in the material at-hand.”

The flexibility of the board allows students to work at their own pace. “It’s a time saver, too. We are so grateful to have this,” Baehr explained. It also decreases the overall amount of paper used in the classroom— making it a green benefit as well.

Neal chose to sponsor this classroom because the child of a team member is in the class. “This has been wonderful for the class,” said Stephanie Nolan, a designer with Charlene Neal PureStyle and a St. Martha parent. “This technology is the way of the future. As a parent, I’m glad my daughter is able to cultivate these skills early on in school.”
