Bartow Ford Aids Citizen's Program in Repainting Vehicles
Bartow, FL, April 11, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Lake Wales Police Department expressed a need to revamp two vehicles assigned to their citizens program. Bartow Ford has accepted the volunteer project.
The Lake Wales Police Department’s Volunteer Observers Impacting Community Effort program, called VOICE, has helped officers for 15 years by providing eyes and ears in the community.
Bartow Ford is dedicating their time and resources into repainting two 1996 Ford Taurus sedans for the organization, so they can continue providing these services to the community. Mike Maskolunas, Bartow Ford’s Collision Center manager, was able to get the paint supplied for free by the Lakeland vendor Auto Paint Supply.
“I became aware of the VOICE’s needs through one of our service advisors, Brian Jones. After looking into it further I decided it would be a great opportunity to help the community,” stated Mike Maskolunas. “These vehicles are what keep this organization going, and without them the VOICE could no longer perform their duties.”
Since 1995, members of VOICE have donated over 35,000 hours to the Lake Wales community. The program has provided supplemental law enforcement services to the community as well, playing an essential role in protecting the health, safety and welfare of the community. The organization also assists with parades, funerals, citizen patrol throughout the city, and large public events.
