Allan Hamilton is a Harvard-trained brain surgeon and holds a professorship in neurosurgery as well as clinical and research professorships in radiation oncology and psychology, at the University of Arizona. He received the 2009 Nautilus Silver Award for his book The Scalpel and the Soul and is the script consultant for the hit TV series “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Private Practice.” He and his wife, Dr. Jane Hamilton, train and breed Lipizzan horses on their ranch outside of Tucson, Arizona.
