Boston, MA, April 14, 2012 --(PR.com
)-- “Many people lead busy lives and although they may want to support local businesses, the fact is they don’t have the time to travel to five different stores to do so,” said Co-founder Tim Wagner. “Convenience is overpowering the desire to support small, local businesses. We saw an opportunity to give people both options at once with weBake.it!”
weBake.it currently has eight Boston area artisans, focusing on delicious desserts, listing nearly 30 products with additional artisans and products on the way. “One of our long-term goals is to provide a selection of artisans and products from across the country so no matter where you are, you will be able to support small businesses in your local community from the convenience of your own home,” Tim continued.
But weBake.it isn’t your typical online marketplace. Tim and Rebecca have taken great care to provide an interactive and visual experience that centers around a content-first design; keeping the products front and center. “The major disadvantage to purchasing food online is that you don’t get to use all of your senses to experience the food,” said Tim. “We knew in order for customers to truly be enticed, we would have to focus on providing one of the most compelling experiences possible over the web.”
