Classic D-Type Jaguar Takes ToyPedia to 250,000

ToyPedia has raced past the 250,000 item line with the AutoArt 1/32 slot car model of Mike Hawthorn’s 1955 Le Mans winning Jaguar D-Type.

Amersham, United Kingdom, April 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Already the largest online database of collectable toys and models, ToyPedia is still growing in leaps and bounds, with listings for 260,000 items as of April 13th 2012. The honour of being the 250,000th item went to one of leading modelmaker AutoArt’s high-detail slot cars, the #13582 No.6 Jaguar D-Type 1955 24 Hours of Le Mans winner, as driven by legendary racing driver Mike Hawthorn.

Launched in 2009, ToyPedia intends to ultimately contain listings for every single collectable toy and model ever made, some 100 million items. Designed to take advantage of Wiki capabilities, item descriptions, histories and images can be edited and added to by members of the Toy Collector community which includes collectors and modelers worldwide, as well as authors, auction houses, dealers and manufacturers. The database also powers Toy Collector’s new online toy and model market which launched in Beta early this year.
