ABC11 Eyewitness News Anchor to Host Fundraiser for Catholic Charities

Tisha Powell Will Serve as Master of Ceremonies for Second Annual Celebrate God’s Gifts Gala on April 28

Raleigh, NC, April 15, 2012 --( ABC11 Eyewitness News ( has announced that anchor Tisha Powell, who co-anchors Eyewitness News at 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. each weekday, as well as Eyewitness News at 10 p.m. on CW22, will serve as the master of ceremonies for Catholic Charities’ Second Annual Celebrate God’s Gifts Gala on Saturday, April 28 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Hilton North Raleigh, located at 3415 Wake Forest Road. The event, hosted by Reverend Michael F. Burbidge, will feature an address from Sister Mary Isaac Jogues, S.U., outreach director at St. Mary Tileston Social Outreach in Wilmington, N.C., and the presentation of the 2012 Bishop J. Joseph Gossman Community Service Award to Rick Miller-Haraway, LCSW, director of Catholic Charities’ Raleigh Deanery. The fundraiser is expected to draw a crowd of up to 300 attendees.
