Earth Day Can Inspire a Lifetime of Actions: Ed Begley Jr. Talks Everyday Green with Living Green Magazine

Santa Fe, NM, April 19, 2012 --(PR.com)-- As Earth Day approaches, many environmentalists think back to how Earth Day events inspired them to reduce their energy and water consumption, to eat organically, to simplify their lifestyle.

For Ed Begley Jr., the first Earth Day on April 22, 1970 became a green tipping point for him to forever green his life. In his inspiring and thought-provoking interview in Living Green Magazine, Ed talks about the small steps he took back then, and how it allows him to take bigger steps today.

In the interview, Ed recounts what happened after that first Earth Day. He started with small steps that cost virtually nothing, or even saved him money—like using a bicycle instead of a car. Even now, he avoids airplanes whenever possible because of their carbon footprint, and uses public transportation and his bicycle to get around, or sometimes his electric car.

Every day is Earth Day in the Begley household, as demonstrated on his “Living with Ed” show on Planet Green, and his soon-to-be-seen green building show “On Begley Street.”

To help people in one everyday area of our lives, Ed started a new line of plant-based, sustainable, and cruelty-free cleaning products called Begley’s Earth Responsible Products. A $100 gift certificate for Ed’s products is being offered to a lucky reader of Living Green Magazine in honor of Earth Day. Go to: http://livinggreenmag.com/cleaning-with-ed

Ed developed a “can do” attitude from his environmentalist father, who instilled in Ed’s character the desire to live his life by walking softly on the earth and using as few resources as possible. Ed truly believes that if we all do everything green that we can, the cumulative effect will indeed make a positive difference in the world.
