ACT Global Sports to Appear on National Television Show “Fox & Friends”

Leading synthetic turf firm to discuss social impact of synthetic turf.

Austin, TX, April 27, 2012 --( ACT Global Sports is pleased to announce an upcoming appearance on national television show “Fox & Friends.” The segment will air April 27, 2012 at 6:00 a.m., and will also be available for viewing on following the live broadcast.

On the show Jennifer Alt, marketing coordinator for ACT Global Sports, will discuss the social and physical benefits provided by synthetic turf systems. The segment will also feature an interactive demonstration of an Xtreme Turf synthetic field.

Childhood obesity is a growing epidemic in the U.S. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 12 million children between the ages of two and 19 are obese. Alt encourages municipalities to consider this issue and increase opportunities to boost physical health and offer more access to playing surfaces within their communities. Synthetic turf is an ideal solution for sport fields as it is easier to maintain, can better withstand inclement weather conditions and offers extended usage over natural grass fields.

“When kids have access to a safe playing surface that they can utilize 24/7, they are more inclined to do so,” said Alt. “A synthetic turf field provides this environment, and can have a substantial physical and social impact on the well-being of a community.”

Also appearing is Tim Cowan, CEO of Athletic Surfaces Plus, to discuss how individuals and businesses can help provide funding support for synthetic turf systems in their neighborhoods. Athletic Surfaces Plus assists schools and communities with conducting fundraisers for athletic projects, including synthetic turf fields.
