London to Brussels via Bruges for Computer Aid International

The team are training hard.

London, United Kingdom, May 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- It’s that time of year when the enthusiastic folk at Brookcourt Solutions take to the saddle with a spritely team of customers and key partners to raise money for the worthy cause that is Computer Aid International.

This year, the challenge has been cranked up a notch. Willing participants are expected to ride 360km from London to Brussels via Bruges over the course of 3 days. The 20 man team comprising experienced and amateur cyclists will battle through uneven terrain, steep hills and whatever the weather man has to throw at them as they cycle the distance and well and truly earn their sponsorship and donations to help reduce poverty through practical ICT solutions in developing countries.

Last year, the 300km cycle from London to Paris raised £35,000 and paid for the refurbishment and shipping of 169 computers to schools and hospitals across Africa. Based on the lifespan of the computers, and the average length of time ICT education takes, this would have been enough to provide enough hours of ICT access for around 8,000 children to reach a vocational standard of ICT literacy - and with this the chance of higher education, employment and a better life.

With this in mind the team this year are going to be pedaling like mad for the same cause.

Fundraising efforts are in full swing so if you’d like to support the team, contact Brookcourt Solutions on 01737 852 251 or email events@brookcourtsolutions.com
