American Sleep Apnea Association Director to Attend American Thoracic Society International Conference

Edward Grandi scheduled for fourth appearance since appointed ASSA Executive Director

Washington, DC, June 05, 2007 --(PR.com)-- American Sleep Apnea Association Executive Director Edward Grandi is scheduled to attend the international conference of the American Thoracic Society (ATS). This meeting was the first medical conference he had attended as Executive Director of the ASAA in 2004, making this his fourth since being appointed to his position.

This meeting in particular will provide an excellent opportunity to learn what is on the cutting edge of sleep apnea research. Mr. Grandi will be pouring over the book of research abstracts for interesting posters to review.

“The ASAA participates as an exhibitor at medical conferences like the ATS meeting as one of the ways the organization stays in touch with medical professionals; in this case those involved in research on sleep disorders like sleep apnea. It is important that physicians, especially research doctors, don't lose touch with the patients they are treating,” he said.

The ATS is committed to disseminating the latest advances, nationally and internationally, in the fields of lung disease, sleep disorders and critical care medicine.

The International Conference is the Society’s most visible activity.

This annual conference has become the premier, international forum for physicians and scientists who work in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. The 2007 International Conference will be held May 18-23 in San Francisco, California.
