Omaha, NE, May 03, 2012 --(PR.com
)-- Blogger Liz Perry, creator of LPOBeauty.com, is challenging women everywhere to join in Ditch the Dye 2012, a challenge to avoid coloring her hair in favor of raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
“This challenge began when I realized I had not gone without coloring my hair for more than three months in over a decade. Others teased they were waiting for my hair to just start falling out, and it presented a great opportunity to embrace my natural beauty and restore the health of my hair,” said Perry. “As I thought more about it, I recognized a great opportunity to combine the challenge with awareness about blood cancers, an issue very personal to me.”
Perry’s mother, Donna Robbins, passed away after a two-and-a-half year battle with leukemia in 2006, at age 52. “Approximately six people an hour die from blood cancers, and this challenge allows me to not only raise awareness about that, but also to raise money to help find a cure,” Perry said.
Ditch the Dye 2012 runs May 1 – November 1. For each day Perry avoids coloring her hair, she will donate $1 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. “Anyone can help – stop dying your hair, donate, or just spread the word,” she said.
