E. L. "Betsy" Smith, Ph.D. Has Been Nominated for the Triangle Business Journal’s "Women in Business Awards" 2012

Raleigh, NC, May 27, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Merrily Sable, RN, who has worked closely with Betsy in their Shift Change Coaching Services for Nurses has nominated Betsy for the “Mentor” category in Triangle Business Journal’s upcoming “Women in Business Awards”. This category recognizes women who enrich the lives and careers of others by sharing the benefits of their experience and knowledge. You can meet the women who have reached the top by attending the 2012 “Women In Business Awards” Luncheon and Expo on August 23, 2012.

The owner and CEO of E. L. Smith Consulting, Betsy coaches and mentors executives and professionals who are at times frustrated in their jobs to get control of their time and their lives. She serves as a mentor for the RTP Chapter of the Health Care Business Women’s Association and serves on the mentoring committee for Connected Women of North Carolina.

Betsy devoted almost twenty years to students in higher education. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas, Austin, and her Master’s and a Ph.D. from Texas A & M University’s College of Education, which named Betsy one of its Thirty Distinguished Graduates. As a writer, Betsy co-authored the book Second Blooming for Women, Growing a Life That Matters After 50 to inspire women over 50 to plan a meaningful future one clear step at a time.

Betsy also served as a Senior Executive at, and/or consultant to, organizations such as: Pensacola (FL) State College, Center for Community Education (Texas A&M) and Austin (TX) Independent School District.

With her passion for, and dedication to, good leadership, she is a graduate of Leadership Florida, Leadership Pensacola, and the Cornell University Institute of Executive Leadership.
