New Dessert Concept Invades the Big Apple

New York, NY, May 28, 2012 --(PR.com)-- A new specialty store in New York is making a strong impression to food connoisseurs with its unique dessert concept. Called Dinkies, the new sensation is a cross between a cake and a pancake with a surprising twist. “The tastiest creations sometimes come from the most surprising inspirations. My family loves cooking and making desserts but it was my son Princeden who took it to another level. He would routinely mix and match his desserts with all sorts of fruits and ingredients then he’ll top it off with his choice of syrup & toppings. When I tried one of his creations, a light bulb flashed in my head,” Anita Leung, Dinkies owner explains the origin of the dessert. “It was just a stroke of genius. I knew my son created a winner,” Anita adds.

After a lengthy product development, the Dinkie is now a special dessert ball shaped into a sphere and stuffed with fillings and spreads then topped off with a selection of sauces. The range of desserts, fillings, sauces and toppings give the Dinkie unlimited versatility that is unmatched by cupcakes and other desserts. This flexibility always fills customers with anticipation for the next combination. “When I first tried out a Dinkie, I admit I was hesitant because I thought it was odd. But into my first bite I was pleasantly surprised. The explosion of flavors and the clash of textures made me smile like a kid. I didn’t know that eating dessert could be such fun. Now, I’m always looking forward to my next Dinkie experiment,” Kevin Miller, a New York native and Dinkie convert shares his experience.

A customer may choose a combination from 7 sweet flavors, 9 sauces and 30 toppings and even 6 savory flavors like chicken in biscuits for people who don’t have much of a sweet tooth. Every order is made fresh and on the spot, so you get a little show while the dinkies are being made. The dinkie store is located at 118 Baxter Street, New York, between Canal and Hester.
