Anderson Thermal Offering Infrared Heaters with New Ceramic Reflective Coating for Packaging, Converting and Nonwoven Lines

Hawthorne, NJ, June 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Anderson Thermal Devices, Inc. now offers a new infrared quartz lamp called RadReflect for drying and curing inks, coatings and adhesives onto packaging, paper and nonwoven substrates. The new ceramic coating has 95% of the reflective efficiency of gold, is less expensive, and has a longer life than gold coated infrared quartz lamps.

The reflective coating makes the heaters unidirectional - radiating most of the energy towards the substrate without external reflectors. Gold vaporizes at a relatively low temperature compared to the ceramic. These factors allow for the RadReflect lamps to be operated at higher temperatures while the back of the quartz tube remains cool and thereby extending lamp life. The RadReflect IR heater is a great match for packaging lines where multiple zones are required thus allowing for better uniformity of heat across the web width.

The infrared lamps are available in shortwave and medium wave fast-response versions allowing for the optimum wavelength needed. They can be mounted horizontally or vertically making them suitable for many types of packaging/converting line configurations. The RadReflect IR heaters are available in single and twin tube configurations. IR lamps can be sold individually or mounted into a cassette to make IR heater panels. These lamps and IR heaters are suitable for many cleanroom applications. Elements are protected from moisture, solvents and contamination.

More information on the RadReflect IR lamp line can be found at www.andersonthermal.com/twin-tubes. In addition to custom offerings, Anderson Thermal Devices provides direct replacement lamps for all major manufacturers. Engineers are always available to discuss new application challenges.
