Cb Wholesale Donates to Local Charities as Result of Social Media Campaign

Bellingham, WA, June 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- CB Wholesale, one of the largest roofing, drywall, and steel stud dealers in Northwest Washington, has donated over $1000 total to two local charities. The charities, Whatcom Humane Society [www.whatcomhumane.org] and Skagit County Meals on Wheels [www.skagitmealsonwheels.org] each received $550.

“We donate money to local charities throughout each year,” says Mark Mendenhall, General Manager of CB Wholesale, “this time we wanted to incorporate an additional level of visibility to the charities we donate to - that’s when we decided to utilize our Facebook page.” CB Wholesale employees brainstormed and came up with the idea to donate $5 to each charity for every new Like they received to their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/cbwholesale). Two days after posting their campaign on Facebook, CB Wholesale had received over 200 new Likes. “We were surprised and honored. Facebook users were sharing our post and telling their friends what we were doing. It went viral locally,” says Mendenhall.

With the success of their Facebook campaign, CB Wholesale has futures plans for additional charity campaigns involving social media and community involvement.
