Denver, CO, June 13, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Medical Device & Design Industry magazine has recognized Baxa Corporation as one of eight US companies with world-class quality and regulatory teams. The profiles are featured in the June 2007 issue, celebrating eight teams whose success depended on the contributions from their quality and regulatory activities.

The article notes that corporate teams working on quality and regulatory issues frequently are unsung heroes within organization. “Not so at Baxa Corporation,” notes Pat Hynes, VP of Global Quality. “Quality here is everyone’s job – it’s part of our culture.” That culture helped Baxa achieve market leadership with its core products; and is fundamental to the company’s strategy.

In addition to meeting cGMPs (current Good Manufacturing Practices), Baxa has adopted lean manufacturing principles to keep quality visible. Robust statistical analyses ensure that performance to goals is measured and maintained. “Baxa Corporation’s quality system is never ‘finished,” says Hynes. “Our goal is continuous improvement, assessing and enhancing our processes over time.”

The June article was the first time MD&DI recognized the accomplishments of the quality and regulatory teams that ensure medical products are safe and ready for market. The other excellent teams profiled were: AtriCure Inc., Cholestech Corp., Ethicon Inc., Life Recovery Systems, Plexus Electronic Assembly, Stereotaxis Inc. and US Endoscopy.
