CupidRadar Launches Location-based Dating App for South African BlackBerry® Users

This marks the first international launch of a CupidRadar App, which enables users to find other singles in real time on their smart phones, while on the go.

Cape Town, South Africa, June 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Location-based dating website CupidRadar.com announced its first international launch of its BlackBerry® App, available through BlackBerry App World™ this week, in South Africa. The app works hand-in-hand with members’ cupidradar.com profiles and matches them with other CupidRadar members based on their real-time locations.

“CupidRadar has been available to BlackBerry® users in South Africa since we launched back in 2011 and will continue to be available to them through any smart phone or web-enabled device at our web site cupidradar.com,” said Mehrdad Sarlak, President of CupidRadar.com. “But with the launch of our BlackBerry® App, we’re enabling an entirely new level of real-time matching as our users live their busy lives going about their day. They no longer need to log in and manually search for users, because the app quietly runs in the background and enables us to do the searching and matching for them.”

As soon as a match is made, both parties are instantly notified and can be in communication with each other through CupidRadar’s private messaging system within minutes. After that, they can determine if they wish to meet up in person, keep chatting, or click "not interested" and move on, never to see that person again on their matches.

“The programming challenges specific to the BlackBerry® platform vary greatly from country to country, so to enable our existing BlackBerry® app to also work in South Africa required additional programming and changes, which our team mastered rather quickly,” added Sarlak, “The technical solutions we discovered and implemented enable us to have one CupidRadar BlackBerry® app that will work in all countries, which we like, and it will allow us to roll out our BlackBerry® app in additional countries very quickly from here on out, which we feel our users will like.”

To begin using the CupidRadar BlackBerry® app, users in the United States on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile® networks and users in South Africa on MTN and Vodacom networks can search for “CupidRadar” within BlackBerry App World™ and download it to their BlackBerry®. They will then be prompted to quickly and easily set up an account on CupidRadar.com. Once approved, members of CupidRadar.com will begin receiving real-time matches as often as they choose while their BlackBerry® App runs in the background.

“Unlike traditional dating websites where you spend countless hours messaging and talking on the phone with someone only to finally meet in person and realize you weren’t a good fit, CupidRadar enables you to meet your matches right away because you know they’re already near you,” said Sarlak.
