Revolution Cycles Presents World T.E.A.M. Sports with Check for Face of America Sponsorship

Holbrook, NY, June 08, 2012 --(PR.com)-- World T.E.A.M. Sports’ Face of America ride received a welcome sponsorship check for $4,075 on June 5 from Arlington Virginia’s Revolution Cycles. Michael Hamannwright, owner and Chief Executive Officer, and Jakob Wolf-Barnett, Chief Operating Officer, presented the check to Van Brinson, the non-profit’s Chief Operations Officer.

The funding was through a contest Revolution Cycles promoted this spring with partner Raleigh America. During a three month period, World T.E.A.M. Sports received a percentage of the sales for every Raleigh sold through the Virginia and Maryland retailer. This last year, Revolution Cycles has provided support and funding for World T.E.A.M. Sports’ Face of America ride, as well as the organization’s Adventure Teen Challenge and Family Day Out events in Washington, D.C.

The 2012 Face of America ride this April 27-29 brought together nearly 500 participants, including more than 60 disabled veterans from across the United States, for the 110 mile ride from the Pentagon in Arlington to Gettysburg. The ride raised more than $400,000 in fundraising by participants, in addition to sponsorship support. Funds raised through the ride were applied to event costs, including participation of the wounded warriors. Any remaining funds are applied to other World T.E.A.M. Sports events, such as the Sea to Shining Sea cross-country bicycle ride which began Memorial Day in San Francisco.

Sponsors for this year’s inclusive Face of America ride included Capital One, American Portfolios, Booz Allen Hamilton, General Electric, Penske Truck Rental, Subway of the Bethesda Naval Hospital, Veteran Corps, Revolution Cycles and Raleigh America. Support also was received from Lime Fresh, Cycle Studio and Gotugo.

Dates for the 2013 Face of America are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
