Lapels Dry Cleaning Stores Holds Largest Clothing Drive Ever to Benefit the Big Brothers Big Sisters Foundation – Over Five Tons Collected

Lapels Dry Cleaning Stores nationwide will join the next Lapels Dry Cleaning sponsored Clothing Drive for the benefit of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Foundation in October 2007.

Hanover, MA, June 13, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Bag upon bag of donated clothing has been collected and counted and now it’s official… Lapels Dry Cleaning Dry Cleaning stores collected over five tons of clothing during the semi-annual Lapels Clothing Drive to benefit the Big Brothers Big Sisters Foundation, making it the largest ever clothing drive to benefit the foundation in Massachusetts.

But “Big Brother” Lawrence Friedman, CEO of Lapels Dry Cleaning, has even bigger plans, as he enthusiastically notes, “We will be rolling out our clothing drive programs to all of our out-of-state stores this fall. We will be contacting local Big Brother Big Sister offices in the areas where we have stores in each state and putting together the same program to benefit the Big Brothers Big Sisters Foundation nationwide, where ever there is a Lapels Dry Cleaning location.”

The two Rhode Island Lapels Dry Cleaning stores, located in Greenville and Lincoln, collected clothing donations to benefit the Big Sisters Fund of Rhode Island.

During the first week of May, patrons of all of the Massachusetts Lapels Dry Cleaning stores heeded the effort to clean out their closets, including the Lapels Dry Cleaning stores in: Abington, Bedford, Boston-Back Bay, Boston-Charles River Park, Brighton, Concord, Dedham, Easton, Framingham, Halifax, Hanover, Lynnfield, Newtonville, Norton, Quincy, Randolph, Salem, Sudbury, Taunton, Westford, and Westwood.

Overall, Lapels Dry Cleaning collected over 400 bags, totaling approximately 11,000 pounds of clothing.
