Exmar Shipmanagement Selects SeaWave Integrator for Operational and Crew Communications

Middletown, RI, June 15, 2007 --(PR.com)-- SeaWave and Iridium Satellite today announced that Exmar Shipmanagement NV has selected the SeaWave Integrator solution for operational and crew communications aboard Exmar's fleet of 25 vessels which serve the international oil and gas industry. The SeaWave system will provide an integrated voice, data and email solution using the worldwide Iridium satellite network of low-earth-orbiting (LEO) satellites.

Exmar selected the Integrator for its ability to reduce administrative overhead while delivering reliable and affordable communications as well as crew access. A longtime advocate of Iridium technology for its low price, global coverage and reliability, Exmar Shipmanagement will utilize the Integrator for operational voice, data backup and affordable crew access with virtually no administration.

"We selected the Integrator for its proven dependability and low cost of ownership," said Peter Verstuyft, managing director of Exmar. "We also found it to be an affordable and feature-rich solution for crew access. The Integrator virtually eliminates administration and therefore reduces our overall investment in providing communications access to our crew."

Recognized in the international shipping community for its ability to act as both a stand-alone router for all vessel communications, as well as a gateway device for remote management of vessel systems, Exmar will also utilize the Integrator to complement SeaWave's Rydex software, currently used for operational data. The Integrator delivers the global coverage, reliability and affordability for voice and data by utilizing a built-in Iridium modem.

"Exmar is an example of a growing number of fleets that have come to realize the Integrator's flexibility," stated Lawrence Zevon, technical product manager for SeaWave. "Our customers make use of our unique ability to offer least-cost voice and data with or without SeaWave airtime, remote control of all vessel systems, crew access and other regulatory and informational products bundled as part of the service."

"Iridium's ubiquitous gap-free coverage over all the world's oceans, and robust voice and data links, provide an ideal solution for shipping fleets such as Exmar with ships trading on worldwide routes," said Greg Ewert, executive vice president of Iridium Satellite. "Our continued rapid growth in the maritime sector is largely due to the innovative and cost-effective products and solutions developed by our value-added partners such as SeaWave."

SeaWave Integrator models come standard with built-in GPS, Iridium voice and data capabilities, and can seamlessly connect to multiple satellite and cellular communications formats.
