)-- This project focuses on the promotion of true Hersonissos, showing it as an attractive destination not only for popular summer holidays in great hotels, beautiful beaches and busy night life, but also revealing the other face of this place, the one with the genuine beauty of the lesser known inland, where a well-informed visitor can find historical monuments and relatively untouched nature.
The tourist becomes a travel reporter.
By a Facebook app, people can enter the competition. Zoover and Griekenland.net will choose a winner who goes on a trip to Greece.
During their stay, the winners have to place different posts, tweets, photos and videos on the web and write a travelogue about the real Hersonissos. The winners have to upload at least one post & photo every day. During the campaign the travel reporters will have to answer questions to people who are interested concerning different regions of Hersonissos in order to get to know them better and to win a lot of prizes like t-shirts and hats.
Many local companies are participating to this project: hotels, restaurants, car rentals, travel agencies. They all have great presents to offer to the “travel reporters.” The flight tickets are sponsored by the biggest Dutch tour operator (Sundio Group).
It is the first time that weblogs Zoover and Griekenland.net work together with a Greek or European Municipality for its promotion.
Zoover and Griekenland.net have recorded almost 2 million visitors per month in the weblog.
