Highlands Ranch, CO, June 22, 2012 --(PR.com
)-- Dr. Chad Prusmack, through his nutraceutical company PruTectRx, has been authorized by T.A. Sciences to prescribe the telomerase activator, TA-65
Popularized by Suzanne Somers in her book, Bombshell: Explosive Medical Secrets that Will Redefine Aging, TA-65 has been shown to lengthen telomeres in DNA strands, which can help slow aging, hinder the development of cancer and decrease genomic instability. TA-65 is only available through authorized, board-certified physicians.
TA-65® was discovered by the biotech company Geron Corporation and is licensed for sale through T.A. Sciences. TA-65 turns on the telomerase reverse transcriptase gene (hTERT), which activates the enzyme telomerase that can lengthen one’s telomeres. "Telomerase activation in aged or chronically stressed normal cells has been shown to slow or reverse telomere shortening, increase replicative capacity and restore or improve cellular function," according to Geron.
A Measurable Difference
Dr. Prusmack recommends that his patients and clients of PruTectRx take TA-65 capsules in a 12-month program known as the Patton Protocol.
Through T.A. Sciences, those taking TA-65 and following the Patton Protocol will have their telomeres measured before, during and after completing the Protocol to show actual changes in telomere length.
“I believe so much in the effectiveness of TA-65, I take it myself,” states Dr. Prusmack.
Origin of TA-65
TA-65 is a naturally occurring single molecule found in the medicinal plant, astragalus. T.A. Sciences has developed a proprietary process to refine and purify TA-65. The process begins with tons of plant material harvested from selected farms in one small region in China. In the plant extraction facility, the raw small molecule from the astragalus plant root is chopped up and refined. After initial extraction, the base ingredient is further purified and then sent to an outside government testing facility where it is tested for purity, heavy metals and pesticides. The product is then sent to a FDA-certified, state-of-the-art laboratory for final purification that ends up with 90%+ pure TA-65—similar to that of the PruTectRx proprietary line of nutraceuticals, the PruTect Series.
Comparison with Commonly Available Astragalus Extract
Astragalus extract can be found in many health food stores, but such products contain little or no TA-65. T.A. Sciences tested four commonly available medicinal plant extracts and none of them contained any measurable amounts of TA-65 (the test assay is accurate to one part per million). The proprietary production process starts with three tons of plant material and ends up with capsules that are guaranteed to contain 5mg of TA-65. According to T.A. Sciences, TA-65 has been in use since 2005 with not one reported adverse event.
