)-- E.L. Hollingsworth launches their truck driving school for veterans that were honorably discharged within the last 12 months. The school is to be conducted in both the Burton and Plymouth, MI terminals beginning July 9, 2012. There is no cost to the participating students. Upon successful completion of the 3 week training, E.L. Hollingsworth will offer permanent, full time employment as a driver with the company. The Truck Driving School for Vets is available to qualified men and women nationwide.
"We have good paying jobs for our returning heroes and we are committing resources to help them make the transition back to the private sector economy. We believe the training our veterans received will make them great candidates for a career that requires responsibility and hard work -- all they need is the career-specific training we can provide," said Executive VP & CFO Jeff Berlin.
Wayne Flees, Safety Director, who is spearheading the Truck Driving School for Vets had this to say: “These guys come home with a lot of uncertainty of what the future holds; we want to help remove that doubt.”
Additionally, a Scouting Event will take place during the Grand Opening of E.L. Hollingsworth’s new Plymouth, MI terminal location to facilitate the hiring of qualified drivers on July 13, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
