)-- ATS, Advanced Thermal Solutions, Inc. now provides nearly 100 high performance heat sink profiles available in standard and bulk lengths. ATS will also provide these heat sinks in customer-designated lengths.
Each of these sink profiles is made from a single extrusion, offering the most cost-effective solution for the majority of electronic cooling applications. The profiles are offered in a wide variety of in-stock aluminum extrusions in straight-fin, cross-cut and maxiFLOW™ fin geometries to meet specific customer requirements. Extrusion profile sizes range from 41mm to 483mm in width and 10mm to 73mm in height. Each profile provides a large amount of aluminum surface area for thermal transfer to the surrounding air and thermal resistance characteristics as low as 1.120C
Each heat sink profile can also be ordered in its standard, pre-cut length of 6, 12, and 18 inches, easing the manufacturing process of design prototypes. The standard length heat sinks are provided with the full surface area measurements. All extrusions are unfinished out of aluminum alloy 6061/6063 but custom anodization is available to meet application-specific requirements.
All of the extruded aluminum heat sink profiles have been thermally tested with research grade wind tunnels, ATVS hot wire anemometry systems and sensors for mapping air velocity and temperature distribution. Bulk and cut to length heat sinks are accompanied with a performance guide that plots heat sink thermal resistance over air flow in linear feet per minute, or LFM.
As designers and manufacturers of thousands of heat sink solutions, ATS solves design challenges thermally and mechanically. In many cases, an off-the-shelf heat sink will meet the application need. These can be ordered in pre-cut sizes or in economical bulk lengths for custom cutting by the buyer.
