Expometals.net – The Online Fair for the Metal Working Industry

Lecco, Italy, June 24, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The very first idea dates back to 10 years ago, as the creators, a group of former design engineers in the wire industry and communication professionals, decided to bet on internet to create a unique, independent web portal, able to give companies a different, cost-effective way to market, sharing knowledges, news, informations.

From Lecco, the Italian homeland of wire drawing, this portal grew on an international scale, reaching 20.000 visitors a month, coming from the whole world, certified by Google.

Formerly known as wiredrawing.net, the network presents itself today with a new corporate identity, expometals.net, the international online fair for the metal working field, from raw materials to finished products - linked activities included: metal wire, tube and pipes, fasteners, springs, coils and sheet metal. The online fair is available in five languages: English, German, French, Spanish and Italian. It is planned to add Russian and Chinese very soon.

The numbers of expometals' success are significant. 13.000 operators and companies of the field are registered to the network; 200 international companies are active on the portal with an online stand, a showcase in which to display products, communicate the latest news, present themselves to the public 365 days a year.

For the third time, the portal's staff has attended this year the well-known fair wire and Tube 2012 in Düsseldorf (Germany). But this year it was different. “We have presented the third release of the network, on which we've been working for three years,” explained Davide Dell'Oro, chairman of the company. “We have invested a lot on this launch. It's not a just a restyling, we have completely rewritten the portal in terms of programming code, in order to include new services, improve the navigability, maximize the surfing speed and the presence on search engines. There can be millions of ways to build an industry portal. But if it's not useful, interesting, easy to use and easy to find, all efforts are in vain.”

The organization of expometals.net is totally independent, as every project born from below, but open to collaborations, with international fairs, trade journals and industry associations. For example, thanks to a co-operation with Dow Jones Financial Information Services, expometals.net can publish articles and reports about the field and updated metal prices for wire rod, bars, coils and non ferrous metals.
