Kingsport, TN, June 24, 2012 --(PR.com
)-- To kick off the summer reading season, a local new business, The Bagel Exchange (107 West Center Street, Kingsport, TN 37660), featured a book-signing with Aundrea Y.Wilcox, author of Startup Savvy: Strategies for Optimizing Small Business Survival and Success (www.startupsavvy.biz). The event took place on June 23rd from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and was open to the public. Wilcox signed copies of her book and shared information about marketing and survival strategies with patrons, entrepreneurs and business owners.
"Starting a business is tough. Surviving the startup phase is even tougher. An alarming number of small businesses do not manage to stay afloat beyond five years, because of unplanned and misdirected spending; short-sighted planning; under- and over-reaction to competitor moves; ineffective marketing; and because the owners fail to perform in functions they genuinely believe they are experts, whether it is finance and administration, marketing and sales, personnel and compensation, or management and operations. Startup Savvy is jam-packed with relatable real-world entrepreneurial stories from seven actual local small businesses combined with solid advice" stated Wilcox.
