Free Wheelchair Mission's GEN_2 Wheelchair Approved by FDA

Free Wheelchair Mission, a faith-based nonprofit organization that provides the transforming gift of mobility to the impoverished disabled in developing nations, has received FDA approval for its GEN_2 model wheelchair.

Irvine, CA, June 28, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Free Wheelchair Mission, a faith-based nonprofit organization that provides the transforming gift of mobility to the impoverished disabled in developing nations, has recently received FDA approval for its GEN_2 model of wheelchair.

With FDA approval, Free Wheelchair Mission can now import and export GEN_2 wheelchairs to the United States without restriction. FWM can also now send wheelchairs to countries that require FDA, or similar, standards be met before they will accept the GEN_2 chair for use within their borders. President and Founder of FWM, Dr. Don Schoendorfer, is happy to see the GEN_2 wheelchair approved by the FDA. “It’s an honor to know that the wheelchair we provide as a gift to the disabled poor throughout the developing world meets all of the standards for use in the United States.”

“Typically in the US,” Schoendorfer notes, “gaining FDA clearance opens the door for commercial success and with that, financial wealth. We are not typical. For us, this clearance is just one more affirmation that we provide quality wheelchairs and the wealth we gain is measured in transforming lives with the through the generosity of our donors.”
