Play Golf at the Pinery-Adoption Options Annual Golf Charity Tournament

Aurora, CO, June 28, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Chances are most people are personally affected by adoption. In 31 years of operation, Adoption Options has placed 1,500 children in safe, loving homes, but not without friends and supporters. Adoption Options is a non-profit, 501(C) 3 agency that works with all types of situations with families around adoption. Adoption Options' counsel more than 200 birthparents a year who are trying to make a good decision for their child. Out of those 200 birthparents, only about 20% of them decide to place their children with an adoptive home. Adoption Options' fees are free to these birthparents because the agency believes so strongly in having birthparents make good decisions for their future and the future of their children. Many of the birthparents are struggling with homelessness, drug and alcohol abuse, no family support, and/or just being young. All birthparents want is what is best for their child and adoption gives them this option.

Adoption Options also helps many children in foster care find permanent, safe and loving families to call their own. Last year, there were over 700 children waiting for a family in Colorado. An average age of a child waiting for their family is 8 years and older. An average wait for a child for a family is around 3 ½ years after the termination of parental rights hearing has been completed. Not only is that a long time for a child to wait to find their family but as a child gets older, the wait time becomes longer and longer. Adoption Options needs the community's help to find homes for all children.

Adoption Options is sponsoring their annual charity golf tournament on Monday, July 23rd at the elite, private Pinery Country Club in Parker Colorado. The event begins with a shot-gun start at 10:00 a.m. There will be a silent and live auction with a dinner provided for all participants.
