Dallas, TX, July 06, 2012 --(PR.com
)-- The Transition Companies, LLC (“TTC”) is pleased to announce the sale of J Squared P Holdings LLC (“J2P”). TTC acted as J2P’s sole M&A advisor for this transaction. The transaction closed June 1, 2012.
Founded in 2002 and located in Tempe, Arizona, J2P through several subsidiary entities, grew to become a regional leader in fire suppression systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, and nurse call systems. Their diverse range of customers include data centers, the hospitality industry, telecommunications facilities, semiconductor manufacturing facilities, call centers, the healthcare industry, cold storage and distribution facilities. Included in their customer base are many well-recognized national blue chip customers.
APi Group Inc. (“APi”), headquartered in New Brighton, Minnesota, is an 86 year old, $1.2 billion privately-held company focused in two primary sectors- industrial and specialty construction services and life safety. APi has more than 30 subsidiaries throughout the US, UK, and Canada. Services provided by the company's construction subsidiaries include energy conservation, electrical, industrial, mechanical contracting, industrial insulation, and overhead door installation. Other subsidiaries install fire protection, security and alarm systems, fabricate structural steel and distribute building materials.
“J2P’s product and service offerings were a natural fit with API's security and fire suppression operations. There were significant product and service similarities between the two companies which made for a seamless integration. In addition, J2P fills a void in APi's geographical footprint as APi did not have a meaningful presence in the Southwest United States,” said Keith Wegen, Managing Director for The Transition Companies and the Deal Manger who led this transaction.
