Hattons Raise Over £3,000 for Clatterbridge Cancer Research

Hattons Solicitors have risen over £3,000 after completing a gruelling 400 mile cycle challenge for Clatterbridge Cancer Research (Registered Charity No. 519357).

St Helens, United Kingdom, July 12, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Hattons Solicitors have risen over £3,000 after completing a grueling 400 mile cycle challenge for Clatterbridge Cancer Research (Registered Charity No. 519357).

Solicitors Mark Cotson, David Merrills, Matthew Smith and Steve Hodkinson committed to months of intensive training, along with consultant Mike Denning, to prepare for the cycle from Land’s End to St Helens.

Hattons Solicitors Partner Steve Hodkinson said, "We are delighted to have raised money for such a worthwhile cause as all our training finally paid off.

"We were shocked when we realised the terrible weather conditions at the weekend but we all pulled together to get through it. Luckily we had good weather on the final two days of the challenge.

"So far we've raised over £3.000, which really boosted morale when we were struggling. It was great to be greeted by the Senior Fundraiser at Clatterbridge Cancer Research, Bobby Magee, and our colleagues from Hattons as we arrived back in St Helens. Special thanks must also go to Hugh Denning and Martin Blondell from The Steve Prescott Foundation for their support on the ride."

Worthy cause Clatterbridge Cancer Research has funded world-class genetic research into the causes of cancer for more than 30 years, and continually works to develop more effective, personalised treatments for the people of Merseyside and Cheshire.

This research is vital, as our region has the worst cancer mortality rates in the country; Merseyside and Cheshire is 16% higher than the national average whilst Liverpool is a staggering 37% higher than the national average.

As the charity receive no funding from the NHS, they rely entirely on their supporters to help them raise the £2million a year needed to continue their vital research.

There is still time to sponsor the team and support this worthwhile charity so please donate whatever you can. You can do this by visiting their Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/Hattons-Solicitors or by texting HATT99 followed by a space and then £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 (e.g. "HATT99 £5") to 70070.
