Guardian Watch™ Leading Efforts to Complement New Legislation Promoting Safer Communities in Georgia

Augusta, GA, July 12, 2012 --(PR.com)-- In response to new measures recently signed into law by Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, Augusta-based Guardian Watch™ is proud to complement the State’s efforts in enacting comprehensive safety reforms by improving return on corrections spending and enhancing overall public safety.

The new initiatives are designed to combat a growing prison population and unnecessary corrections costs by reducing recidivism rates of nonviolent offenders and strengthening probation and accountability courts. The legislation, which was passed unanimously by both the Georgia Senate and House, will help protect communities by focusing prison space on violent and career criminals, allowing law enforcement to remove more serious threats to community safety from the streets.

Guardian Watch™ is dedicated to empowering citizens to work in tandem with public safety officials to prevent these types of crimes. The Guardian Watch™ application opens a direct line of communication between citizen and first responder, and encourages collaboration and organization within Neighborhood Watch programs to fight crime. Users are able to assist police and sheriff’s departments in reporting and responding to criminal activity or suspicious behavior, and receive alerts and notifications of criminal activity in their area.

Through Guardian Watch™, Georgia residents are armed with the necessary tools to supplement law enforcement in enacting the new reforms. “The measures being put in place by the Georgia legislature is aligned with the mission of Guardian Watch™,” says Guardian Watch™ Founder Dr. Gordon Jones. “Our application, with its powerful Visual Awareness and Vicinity Based Alert Notifications technologies, grants citizens the capacity to augment the state’s efforts by taking ownership of the protection of their community.”

Guardian Watch™ is also offering comprehensive safety guides on a broad range of community and personal safety and security issues to help educate Georgia residents and other members. Jones hopes that Guardian Watch™’s services, combined with the state’s renewed commitment to addressing public security concerns, will lead to a better, safer environment.
