)-- Free Wheelchair Mission, a faith-based nonprofit organization that provides the gift of mobility to the impoverished disabled in developing nations, has been selected as a regional finalist by StayClassy, Inc. for the 2012 CLASSY Award in the category of Health and Well Being. Regional finalists were named from a pool of more than 2,400 nominees.
Founder and President, Dr. Don Schoendorfer, is excited for the nomination. Dr. Schoendorfer responded to the announcement by saying, “It is truly humbling for us to be recognized alongside some of the most outstanding charities working today. We can’t wait to see how the selection process plays out, but ultimately we will always find our reward in the smiles and gratitude of those we serve.” He continued, “We recently received FDA certification on our GEN_2 Wheelchair model, so for us a nomination in the category of Health and Well Being is further affirmation that we are providing a quality mobility aid to the impoverished disabled throughout the developing world.”
Regional finalists will be judged by a panel of past CLASSY award-winners and also in part by a public vote, open until July 26, 2012.
