Global Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage Summit Announced Its 3rd Annual Conference in Beijing

The 1st Asia-based CCUS initiative, “Global Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage Summit” (GCCUSS) to hold its 3rd conference during 22nd-23rd August, in Beijing, China.

Beijing, China, July 14, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Global Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage Summit announced its 3rd Annual event, to be held this summer in Beijing 22nd-23rd August. Over 200 major CCUS stakeholders will participate to address progress has been made and challenges to be tackled to deploy CCUS at scale.

At its 3rd consecutive year, we see an increasing importance of China on the global CCUS roadmap, and a more active role on global demonstration projects through both inbound and outbound partnership programs.

China is now open to diversified partnerships on demo projects and R&D programs, both inbound & outbound. China established international partnership with Italy, America, Canada, UK, Norway, Australia, and so on. Major power companies/institutes are cooperating with MNCs like B&W, Alstom.

China has the potential be a Competitive Technology Provider based on more extensive demo experience. Huaneng was chosen for technology qualification at CCM (Mongstad CO2 Capture Project) in Norway; it also provides gasification technology to overseas power market through commercial license. China could be a competitive provider on its self-developed technologies giving they have more demonstration experience.

China will be positioned itself as “Innovate in China,” “Demo in China,” instead of traditionally “made in China” on deploying advanced technologies to cut the emission.

The Global Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage Summit continue its mission to connect global CCUS demonstration project, and R&D community with major stakeholders in China including CNPC, Sinopec, CNOOC, Huaneng-CERI, Shenhua and so on.
