Phoenix, AZ, July 25, 2012 --(PR.com)-- On July 18, 2012 at Amaro Pizzeria & Vino Lounge, almost 40 local business professionals gathered to meet other business owners or neighbors, and raise money for a good cause. Local Realtor, Kelli Grant of Platinum Premier Realty, hosted the event with Jaclyn Payne of Primary Residential Mortgage and Tom Newell of First American Title.

The event raised $500 toward Sonoran Foothills resident, Kerina Graham’s, fundraising goal of $2300 to do the Susan G. Komen 3-day walk in Chicago on August 10, 2012. She has participated in this event since 2007. When Kelli heard about her story and she mentioned that the most difficult part of the event each year is to raise the minimum $2300 that each participant is required to raise, Kelli couldn’t help but to jump in and lend a hand. She commented, “That’s the most difficult part? If she can do the walking, then I can help her get there!” Kelli built a simple blog telling Kerina’s story, displaying photos of past walks, and recognizing the supporters who have donated in her fundraising endeavor www.kerinagraham.wordpress.com.

Kelli Grant’s motto “Moving People Through Good Deeds” describes her philanthropic attitude to give back. Not only does she serve her clients, but she strives to continually serve the community in various capacities. She has volunteered for the Fresh Start Women’s Foundation since 2002, including serving as a Mentor in their Mentoring Program. In May of this year, she hosted a small gathering at Vino 100 Wines where about 25 women raised $246 through wine tastings and raffles that went to Raising Special Kids of Arizona.

“Why not include a charity or a cause to support when we gather with our neighbors or associates and network. You don’t always have to throw a massive fundraising event that costs thousands to raise thousands of dollars. Each little mixer helps, every dollar counts,” said Kelli Grant. Because of the generosity of residents and businesses who donated prizes and bought raffle tickets, they raised $500 in a few hours of networking, meeting new friends and making connections.
