About Somnath Bhattacharyya

Somnath Bhattacharyya earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1988 and his M.A. in Quality Management at Webster University. He currently serves with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a Civil Engineer in Military Construction. Mr. Bhattacharyya is affiliated with the Program Committee of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). He has written articles for Metropolis St. Louis and has been honored by the St. Louis Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers Zone III with the Daniel W. Mead Award for Young Engineers. As a Program Committee Member for American Society of Civil Engineers, he is involved in arranging guest speakers and arranging socials. He is involved with the St. Louis International Film Festival and organizes "Celebrate the City" as well as volunteering for "The Lot". In his free time he enjoys reading, writing, physical fitness, travel and international films.
