)-- Several hundred children visited Moritz Chevrolet on Saturday, July 28 to learn the basics of catch-and-release fishing. Parents in attendance had the opportunity to learn about fuel-efficient vehicles like the 2012 Chevy Sonic. All the activities took place at Moritz Chevrolet’s Fort Worth Chevy dealership.
Reported attendance numbers indicate that this was the largest Kidfish event that in the history of the Fort Worth dealership. Children who participated caught 304 fish, resulting in $304 that Moritz Chevrolet donated to the Humane Society of North Texas.
Moritz Chevrolet also gave $1 for every fish to Camp Craig Allen, a facility dedicated to assisting those with physical disabilities. The money raised by Moritz Chevrolet was matched dollar-for-dollar by local restaurant Fred’s Texas North, bringing the total amount of money donated to Camp Craig Allen to $608.
Prizes and trophies were awarded every hour to the children who reeled in the biggest fish. Dealership employees were also on hand to assist drivers interested in learning about some of the new Chevrolet models available at the dealership, including the 2012 Chevy Sonic. Cold drinks were available and food was provided by BigFish BBQ.
