Newfoundland Games to be Held on Beynon Track

The Newfoundland Games build their brand new Beynon Track and Field surface specifically for the Newfoundland games on the 20th anniversary of Carbonear and Harbour Grace first hosting the games.

Hunt Valley, MD, August 19, 2012 --(PR.com)-- When Carbonear and Harbour Grace host the athletics portion of the Newfoundland Games, August 22nd – 25th, the athletes will be competing on their new Beynon BSS 100 surface. The BSS 100 surface is manufactured by Beynon Sports and installed by PlayTeck Enterprises, the official Canadian distributor of Beynon, and was built specifically for the Newfoundland Games. The BSS 100 is a durable and easy to maintain track surface that is a perfect solution for local schools and communities who are in search of an economical and IAAF certified all-weather track system. At Beynon Sports, they pride themselves on always providing the best possible surface, which is why they lead the industry with eight (8) IAAF certified surfaces and are market leader in outdoor track and field systems.

PlayTeck Enterprises has installed Beynon’s renowned track surfaces across Canada, and lead the industry with four (4) Class II IAAF certified surfaces in Canada. They recently were awarded the project at the University of Guelph, which will feature Beynon’s BSS 2000 track and field surface, in addition to being decorated with IAAF Class II Certification for their track and field facility at the Invista Centre in Kingston, Ontario.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Games program was established in 1976 and is held every two (2) years, alternating between winter and summer competitions. Athletes from all areas of the province, ages 11-18, are eligible to participate. The games are designed to encourage participation in sport, recreation and community development, as well as the pursuit of excellence and sportsmanship.

“Having the chance to be a part of an event with such a storied tradition, and help build a facility that can promote an active lifestyle is something we are very proud of,” Matt Auffrey, Owner of PlayTeck Enterprises. “The next Donovan Bailey, Bruny Surin or Michael Smith could be competing and we feel great knowing that they are competing on a Beynon track that many of the world’s best athletes train and compete daily on.”
