Cherry-Roubaix series is a three-day weekend event. The State Championship Road Race took place Sunday, August 12. The championship course start/finish was high atop Sugarloaf Resort in Cedar, Michigan.

The weekend thrilled from the start as Old Mission Peninsula Time Trials delighted spectators and challenged Cherry-Roubaix competitors on Friday, August 10. Excitement continued on August 11 with Saturday’s full day of competitive cycling that kicked into gear with the morning Cherry-Roubaix Charity Ride to benefit Munson Healthcare Women’s Cancer Fund for cyclists of all levels. Following the benefit ride, the Cherry-Roubaix Old Town Criterium launched into high-energy action, where spectators and racers felt engaged in the incredible speed of athletes careening around cobblestone corners on a one mile course through the streets of Traverse City. Additional events including the Kids Ride and fun, unpredictable Cruiser Classic ensured all Cherry-Roubaix participants and audiences received the satisfaction they expected.

Sealing the weekend, on Sunday, August 12, the Michigan State Road Race Championship featured the most challenging course in Michigan across gorgeous Leelanau County. This demanding race has earned its stripes as the most rigorous road race in the state, and as a result determined Michigan’s best of the best. Hills and turns of the of the old 1980’s State Road Race course are unforgiving and tested racers from around the state.

From a world-class resort landscape to simple blue skies and fresh water, Cherry-Roubaix annually delivers an event for professional and amateur racers, cycling enthusiasts, volunteers and fans of all ages. Destination: Cherry-Roubaix. Put your hands up.
