Splore Announces Janine Donald as New Executive Director
Splore’s Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Janine Donald as the organization’s new Executive Director as of August 6th, 2012. Under Ms. Donald’s very capable and eager leadership, Splore will continue to expand its operations and programs in order to offer exceptional outdoor adventures to people of all abilities.
Ms. Donald has been with the organization for nearly five years and has served as volunteer, guide, program manager and until recently associate director. Under Ms. Donald’s very capable and eager leadership, Splore will continue to expand its operations and programs in order to offer exceptional outdoor adventures to people of all abilities. “I’m thrilled and grateful to take this next step with Splore. We have an inspirational mission, amazing staff and volunteers, and most importantly, a phenomenal community of businesses, agencies, nonprofits and clients who support us consistently throughout the years,” says Ms. Donald.
One of Ms. Donald’s key contributions has been the creation of the EVOLVE Project, a semester-long outdoor leadership course for teens with a focus on career development and opportunities. Funded by the U.S. Forest Service, Smartwool and The North Face, Splore kicks off the project in September in partnership with University Neighborhood Partners.
