A Chocoholic Treat Aboard Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ Boudicca in Winter 2012

Suffolk, United Kingdom, August 23, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines will be hosting a Mediterranean cruise on board Boudicca in November 2012 to tickle the taste buds of any chocoholic. The cruise line will be offering guests the chance to learn all there is to know about this most tempting of treats from renowned chocolatier, Gerry Wilton, as part of the award-winning Vistas onboard enrichment programme. This special 14-night "Portugal, Madeira & the Canaries" D1224 cruise, sailing from Portsmouth on 4th November 2012, features a theme of "The Chocolate Experience," and guests will learn about the history of chocolate, as well as being able to participate in hands-on chocolate-making classes whilst on board.

Gerry and Roo Wilton have been involved in the catering and hospitality business since 1989, from sandwich bars, the outrageous and successful "Jokers Fun Party" restaurant, and "Wilton’s Outside Caterers," covering outside events of all types. Gerry and Roo became involved in the chocolate business in 2001, and were one of the original chocolate fountain companies to offer the service of chocolate fountains in the UK. Spotting an opportunity, Gerry quickly capitalized, and before long had acquired five fountains, renting them all over the South of England to various events, including weddings – including Peter André and Jordan’s wedding in September 2006 – and many film premieres, showbiz parties and corporate functions.

Gerry and Roo went on to introduce their innovative chocolate workshops, "Chocolate Delight," in 2004, which are now available from all the major internet gift voucher sites. These courses run every week in London, Bournemouth, Brighton, Bath, with two licensed areas in Warwick and Birmingham. All courses in Bournemouth are held in The Chocolate Boutique Hotel. During the first year of the workshops, Gerry saw and developed a corporate chocolate teambuilding event, which has seen tremendous growth throughout the UK and Europe since its inception, making "Chocolate Delight" the leader in this field. 2009 saw the introduction of the first-ever "Chocolate Delight" workshop on board a cruise ship, with a trial cruise to Greenland, Iceland and the Fjords, and the classes were an instant hit.

Boudicca’s D1224 "Mediterranean" cruise sails from Portsmouth on 4th November 2012, and visits the "Garden Island" of Madeira, before taking in some winter sunshine in the Canary Islands of La Palma, Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote. Vibrant Lisbon, Portugal’s colourful capital, is the ship’s next port of call, followed by Leixoes for tours to the bustling city of Oporto, before returning to Portsmouth.

Prices for this cruise start from £899, for two adults sharing a twin-bedded cabin, Grade ‘I’, and include all meals and accommodation, entertainment – including "The Chocolate Experience" – and port taxes.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines was voted "Best Educational Cruise" for its Vistas onboard enrichment programme – which has featured the likes of The Archers and an Agatha Christie-themed cruise – in the 2011 "Cruise International Awards," and is hosting a number of exciting speakers, such as Antiques Roadshow expert Lars Tharp and gardening guru Charlie Dimmock in its 2012/13 programme.
