TERI Achieves ISO 9001:2000 Certification

The certification enhances TERI’s reach, visibility and effectiveness as it commemorates its "25 Years of Quality" with in the capitals corridors.

New Delhi, India, June 30, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) has developed its quality management system which now conforms to the international standards, ISO 9001:2000. The accreditation was given to TERI by the British Standards Institution (BSI) after assessing and rating extempore its management system. TERI is one of the first few research institutes of its kind in the world to achieve this distinction.

Acknowledging TERI’s achievement, Dr RK Pachauri, Director General of TERI said, “This certification is a testament to TERI’s commitment to quality, which has been undeterred since its inception. The ISO 9001:2000 certification would certainly help us with opportunities overseas as well as other sunrise sectors in India.”

TERI has never left any stone unturned when it comes to quality and has always been deeply committed to provide quality knowledge and application services in the fields of energy, environment and sustainable development. With the implementation and registration of the ISO 9001:2000 management system, TERI in its existing mode will be able to continually achieve improvement in its quality performance. Also with the use of a proven management system combined with ongoing external validation TERI would also be able to renew its strategies, operations and service levels to meet the challenges of globalization, adaptability, growth and technological advancement.
