International Thought Leader & Humanitarian Sadhguru Leads Detroit Conference Oct.12-14

Detroit, MI, August 30, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Internationally Renowned Yogi & Humanitarian Leader Coming to Detroit Oct. 12-14

Sadhguru to lead public yoga/meditation conference at Cobo Center.

How do we change the world, especially in these times of turmoil? According to world-renowned yogi and visionary humanitarian Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, or “Sadhguru,” the surprising answer is not to look outward, but inward – to raise human consciousness. Metro Detroiters will have a rare opportunity for a spiritual “tune-up” and consciousness-raising this fall, when the international thought leader comes to town to present Inner Engineering," Oct. 12-14 at Cobo Center in Detroit.

“Raising human consciousness is the most vital thing to be done on the planet right now,” emphasizes Sadhguru. “Don’t try to fix the world. If you and I are fixed, the world will be fine.”

Inner Engineering, one of only two U.S. events that India-based Sadhguru will lead this year, is a three-day immersion in the science and technology of inner wellbeing. The program includes engaging discourses exploring the nature of the mind and practical wisdom to manage life situations, along with guided meditations, asanas or simple yoga postures, and the transmission of shambhavi mahamudra –a powerful and purifying energy technique designed to bring one’s entire system into alignment and harmony.

The program is presented by Isha Foundation, a non-religious, entirely volunteer-run, international nonprofit dedicated to cultivating human potential and fostering peace and global understanding.

Among the millions of people worldwide who have experienced Inner Engineering, the most commonly reported benefits are improved mental clarity and sleep quality, increased energy levels, the ability to better handle stressful situations, a greater sense of connectivity and joy in everyday life and even relief from chronic diseases such as diabetes, migraines, hypertension, depression and more, as reported in a 2008 study conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research.

Contrary to an often held perception, Sadhguru states, “Yoga and the inner sciences are not esoteric philosophies from an outdated past. They are, in fact, vitally relevant to our times.”

The weekend program with Sadhguru also features a variety of other offerings to surprise and delight attendees, from music, games and exhibits to high pranic, or life-sustaining, nutritious and delicious foods for Saturday/Sunday lunches and Sunday breakfast.

The conference takes place at Cobo Center, 1 Washington Blvd. in Detroit. Hours are Fri., Oct. 12, 6:30-9:30 p.m.; Sat., Oct. 13, 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m.; and Sun., Oct. 14, 7:30 a.m.-7 p.m.

“It’s a life-transforming weekend,” says Barb Hernandez, a local volunteer with Isha Foundation. “Whether you’re new to yoga and meditation and looking to improve your health or mindset, or you’re experienced--maybe even taken previous Inner Engineering classes, you’ll learn so much about the power to change your life.”
