Sofitel Manila Partners with ABS-CBN for Mission Habagat

Pasay City, Philippines, August 31, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Mission Habagat is a relief effort organized by Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila together with ABS-CBN Foundation’s Sagip Kapamilya assistance program. This joint project is focused on providing basic assistance for communities affected and displaced by the devastation caused by recent heavy rains and massive flooding.

As an initial act for the project, Sofitel Manila executive committee and managers conducted relief goods operation at Barangay Gulod, a residential district in Novaliches, Quezon City, which is among the most devastated areas in the metro hit by the massive flooding last August 7. Water, rice, noodles, sardines, soap and shampoo were distributed to one thousand families, while one thousand towels were donated to Sagip Kapamilya for the foundation’s mobile bathroom caravan project.

The Mission Habagat project is the first partnership between Sofitel Philippine Plaza and ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. Joint education and livelihood projects are in the pipeline for the coming year.
